Born and raised in Vernon, Michigan, I've always felt a deep connection to this community. After years away — immersing myself in the vibrant pottery scenes of North Carolina and Kentucky — I came home with one goal: to share my love of ceramics with the people and place that shaped me. That dream became The Blue Lotus Pottery.
With over 17 years of experience shaping clay, my work has always been an exploration of form, color, and texture. I'm drawn to playfulness — whimsical glazes, unexpected shapes, pieces that are as fun to look at as they are to use. To me, pottery isn't just an object. It's usable art that should bring a little joy to your everyday life.
What started as a passion has grown into a welcoming studio community — a place where students of all skill levels come to learn, experiment, and fall in love with the craft. Located at 7505 E. M-71, Suite C in Durand, we're a convenient drive from both Flint and the Lansing area. Just bring your curiosity and maybe an apron — we've got everything else you need.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of watching complete beginners throw their first pot and experienced students push their skills in exciting new directions. That moment when the clay finally does what you want it to do? That never gets old. I keep class sizes small so every student gets real attention, real feedback, and real progress.
Whether you've never touched clay in your life or you're looking to sharpen your skills, I believe everyone has the ability to create something beautiful. If you've been thinking about trying pottery, there's no better time to start. Come join me in the studio and begin your own ceramic adventure.

Born and raised in Vernon, Michigan, I’ve always felt a deep connection to this community. After being away for many years, I've longed to share my passion for ceramics with my neighbors, and today, that dream comes to life at The Blue Lotus Pottery, located just on the edge of Vernon. A short drive from Flint, Mi or Lansing, Mi.
With over 15 years of experience in shaping clay, my journey as a ceramic artist has been an exploration of form, color, and texture. After immersing myself in the vibrant pottery scene of North Carolina and Kentucky, I've returned home to Michigan, inspired to bring my knowledge and love of ceramics back to my roots.
At my studio, I offer pottery classes in MI for all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned potter or a curious beginner, I believe everyone has the ability to create beautiful pieces.
My work embodies playfulness—from whimsical glazes to unexpected shapes. I believe that pottery should be more than just an object; it should be usable art that brings joy to your everyday life. Each piece I create is designed to add a touch of beauty and character to your space.
The unpredictable nature of the glaze captivates me. It’s like opening a treasure chest every time I unload a firing, revealing new and exciting transformations. This element of surprise fuels my creativity and ensures that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind, which reflects the uniqueness of Vernon pottery.
I invite you to explore my collection and discover the perfect piece to add a touch of whimsy to your world. Or, better yet, join me in the studio and start your own ceramic adventure!
